Education & Support

Clients and their loved ones often benefit from further support outside the therapeutic environment. While many supplemental resources exist, it can sometimes be difficult to determine which sources are reputable and helpful. Please see below for a list of potential resources for you and/or your loved ones, recommended by members of Greenville DBT Collective.

Family Connections™

Family Connections™ is a free, evidence-based course for individuals who are supporting someone affected by BPD or emotion dysregulation. The course is offered through the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD) and takes place online. There is often a waitlist, so we recommend completing an application as soon as possible.

Educational Materials

Trying to find educational resources about topics related to borderline personality disorder and other DBT-related concepts can be challenging. Popular books like I Hate You, Don’t Leave Me or Stop Walking on Eggshells can actually add to the stigmatization of personality disorders and can leave some clients feeling hopeless or judged. So, we have compiled a list of more helpful books, articles, and podcasts we recommend for clients and families.
